Raspberry Bars



1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup butter
1 egg, beaten, for base
1 tablespoon milk
1 cup white sugar
2 cups coconut
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg, beaten for topping

Cut butter into flour and baking powder. Stir in the beaten egg and milk. Press this into an 8"x8" pan. Spread lightly with Raspberry Jam. To the remaining beaten egg, add sugar, coconut, butter and vanilla. Beat well and spread over the jam. Bake at 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes.
