Mom's Gingerbread

Mom's Gingerbread
Mix well as for a piecrust-
2 cups of flour
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of ginger
Reserve 1/2 cup of this mixture.
To the remainder of the mixture, add:
1 egg
2 Tablespoons of Molasses
1 cup sour milk ( add a teaspoon of vinegar to a cup of milk, wait 5 minutes)
1 teaspoon of soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix well.
Pour into greased pan (Mom used a 13 x 9, I use two loaf pans)
Sprinkle reserved mixture on top.
Bake at 350* for 25 minutes or until center is set.
